Malai Malai Movie Review

Malai Malai is worth seeing good entertainer in which the young hero Arun Vijay looks quite different from his other films. This film stars Arun Vijay, Vedhika, Prakash Raj and Prabhu. This entertaining film is directed by A. Venkatesh and the music score is performed by Manisharma. I personally feel that the songs should have come out even more better as it doesnot support the fil to its potential. Director has tried his best to give something different but his efforts fall flat while we watch the film.

Let us now look at the overview of the film now!

Arun works in Pazhani as a tempo driver. When he visits his uncle, he meets RJ Vedhika from Chennai who gets attracted towards him looking at the Good Samaritan that Arun is. Arun sees Kasthuri and finds a good life partner in her for Prabhu. Meanwhile he loses his job due to a small mishap in his work and proceeds to Chennai to seek greener pastures. There he meets Vedika again and cultivates his love.

Prakash Raj is the local baddie in Chennai who terrorizes the public and on his birthday bash on the road, some miscreants from his group misbehave with Vedhika. The typical macho lover boy that our Arun is, bashes up the baddies along with Prakash Raj. This turns out to be a great insult to Prakash Raj who loses his MLA ticket. It is only natural that he wants to avenge his insult. The twist, if at all there is one, comes in the form of Prabhu’s visit to Chennai when he meets his school buddy who is none other than Prakash Raj.

Arun Vijay does his part sincerely. Besides dancing, Vedhika tries to act too. Prakash Raj and Prabhu prove once again that they are veterans after all. Santhanam and Lollu Sabha Manohar tickle our funny bones sometimes. Kanja Karuppu is just passable. Mani Sharma’s Pooparikka Solluma passes muster. Scenes and narration are the same old run-of-the-mill types but for Prabhu’s and Prakash Raj’s friendship.

Ayan Movie Honest Review!

Ayan, one of the most expected film, has hit the big screens. The movie is starred by Surya and Tammanah, directed by KV Anand and music score by Harris Jayaraj. Me and my friends went to theatre to watch the film. The film is neither too good nor bad. It has its own way of attracting Surya Fans. It’s a film that’s been inspired vividly by the newspaper articles that every day glimpse and yet don’t focus on those stories.

Of course, it’s turn that we see them every time we see often. The film is about a big-time smuggler Goss (Prabhu) who has Deva (Surya) working under him. Deva goes about across all foreign countries smuggling pirated Film Videos, Gold, Diamonds and more… Deva has his sidekick Chitti (Jagan) accompanying him in all the conniving activities along with a deaf driver (Karunaas). Every time, they gear up with serious efforts for the collusive trip, cops are behind them. The opposite gang guy Kamalesh (Akashdeep Saigal) is the man on the opposite tracks.

Overall, in my perspective, the film scores 7.5 out of 10. The film should have given all Surya Fans what they expected and i feel they all will be contented with the efforts made by their hero. But i also feel that the film did not live up to its expectation, still a good entertainer for the kollywood movie lovers.

Frieda- New Fashion Style Icon!

Fame touches Frieda as a new fashion style icon. The reach of “Slumdog Millionaire” has propelled Mumbai girl Freida Pinto into instant fame with the former model going from anonymity to international celebrity within a span of few months. Fashion bible Vogue has lauded her as a style icon for her fashion choices at the coveted red carpet events attended by her.

The 24-year-old actress features in a smouldering new shoot for the Indian edition of Vogue magazine, which brands her as a “style icon”. The Vogue cover emerged just hours after it was revealed that Frieda is lined up to star in Woody Allen’s next film.

Allen moved quickly to secure the services of the 24-year-old Pinto, the latest in a long line of female muses featured in his films, including actresses like Scarlett Johansson and Diane Keaton. Pinto will star alongside Hollywood stars Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts and Anthony Hopkins in what will only be her second film.Filming will start in London this summer after the success of Allen’s latest hit Vicky Cristina Barcelona , which won actress Penelope Cruz her first Oscar.

Slumdog Millionaire Hot Favourite at Oscars

Slumdog Millionaire, director Danny Boyle's neo-realastic film with 10 Oscar nominations stood poised to ride into ultimate cinematic fame at 81st Academy Awards at Los Angeles. Powered by a non-stop winning streak in other international awards, the story of a Mumbai slum teaboy's unlikely road to riches was the favourite to win the most coveted Oscar-Best picture award.

As the countdown began for the awards ceremony at the kodak theatre and British bookmakers listed it their clear favourite, child actors,10 year old Azharuddin Ismail and 9 year old Rubina Ali went round Mumbai on Friday. They excitedly spoke to the Media and acknowledged the collective enthusiasm of the city. Music maestro A.R.Rehmann, presently in Los Angeles preparing to perform at the prestigious ceremony told it would be a great honour if the film could grab the award.

Nine children who acted in the film were being hosted for the exciting awards ceremony function and Fox Searchlight was paying for visas, travel and accommodation. The film has won rave reviews and sharp reactions for its slum and poverty slot, competes for the best picture with the period drama "The curious case of Benjamin Button", the political story.

With Danny Boyle and his film heavily favoured to win the Best Director and Picture, Oscar watchers are looking to the acting honours for suspense at the ceremony.

Marimuthu and his team is going to madurai for playing kabadi tournament. In the tournament Marimuthu gets the man of the match award.

Story moves in a light way,in the first half describing the village love and in the second half describing the kabadi. But The climax is very touching and sentimental.I don’t know why director has made such a tragedic end?

Red Card to Nayanthara???

Actress Nayanthara , one of the leading actress of the Kollywood in recent times has starred many of the block buster movies that include 'Chandramukhi', 'Ayya', 'Billa', 'Aegan' etc.

The gorgeous actress from the south of India is currently having a problem with Subash Chandra Bose that is turning against her favour. The situation seems bleak to the beautiful lady Nayanthara which may put an end to her career in tamil film industry. This is infact the hottest topic of Kollywood today. The recent news that is heading from the Tamil film industry is that Nayanthara is found guilty for the complaint from Subash Chandra Bose, the honourable producer of 'Paiya' movie stating that Nayanthara has not returned the advance paid to her. On account of this complaint, Tamil film producers Association along with South Indian film actors association issued a red card on actress Nayanthara that signifies that she will not be able to sign up any tamil film in the future.

Villu Hit or Flop???

(My Review)

Movie: Villu.
Starring: Vijay, Nayanthara, Vadivelu.
Direction: Prabhu Deva
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Production: Ayngaran International.

Rating:*****(1.5/5)

Villu is Prabhu Deva’s version of the Hindi box office hit Soldier. if Prabhu Deva made a good adaptation of Soldier things would’ve been any better. Prabhu Deva has successfully made the army operations appear as if it were a one man attempt.

Vadivelu’s unimaginative comedy track has absolutely no connection with the movie’s main plot.but, it serves as a saving grace for the movie in many instances.

Nayan’s presence serves the purpose of eye candy. Villu’s story is reminiscent of the pre-historic Tamil cinema formulas such as son taking revenge over his father’s killers to satiate his mother’s wishes. And of course, there is time for love, double crossing, comedy and some sentiments . Ravi Varman’s cinematography appear hazed even in the foreign locales. but vijay’s stylish new look help a lot.
